Redundant and Bureaucratic Bureau of Redundancy Bureau

This bureau ran from March 22nd to April 6th, and had 269 members at its peak. This represents about 20% of all Egypt, and a far higher percentage of active players. Thank you for serving!

Note that I'm running another bureau.

The Vision

Annoucing the first Towering Palm Society-sponsored Free Bureau!

I would like to try a new type of bureau that combines the best features of a free bureau and an organized one. The official hiring policy will be "Hire whom you trust" similar to the ones organzied by Telanoc and Lill. But, because the bureau has been announced in advance, you have a head-start on recruitment -- the "hires" are recorded before the start of the bureau, allowing most people to participate for the entire 14-day event.

Earlier hiring means more points for eveyone!

As part of the organized chaos, this bureau is also an official Towering Palm Society bureau, so welcome TPS'ers!

The Review

What worked

Working with TPS was a very positive experience. I appreciate their flexibility in bureau management, and overall, I think the mesh between free and guild-run organization worked well. Massive amounts of points; Tripps and Gemstar passed upon completion, and many people ended with 2300 or more permanent points.

What didn't work

I was hoping that with the bureau announced well in advance, there would be a lot of virtual recruitment. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Like most free burearus, a mad rush to see who is on, a day of heavy recruitment, followed by slow and steady growth. Part of it I think was that some relatively new players were placed high in the hierchary -- an advtage to being part of a free bureau, but they weren't sure who to trust and correctly waited to make sure prior to hiring. This was complicated by having one of the planned directors quit the game shortly before the bureau opened (which itself is much preferable to quitting just after the bureau opened).

What I would do next time

The collaboration with Towering Palm Society was great and I would not hesitate to do so again. Rather than having open virtual recruitment, I would quietly let friends and friends-of-friends know about the opportunity to have a full managerial team in place. Less of an opportunity for new players or those who don't know the executive but better from a point-generation standpoint I think.

Star Performers

I'd like to give special recognition to EdldradUlthran (Tawret) for sloting a bunch of people in at the hiring party. I'd also like to thank the following people who patiently waited at the hiring party (if you were there and aren't listed, please accept my apologies. Perhaps you were hired right away?):

The people below were selected based on the wiki structure, not on actual points per day. So if you aren't listed and feel like you should have been (or if you aren't given full credit), update the wiki next time!

Oustanding Director

Sumtet generated a phenominal number of hires -- over half the bureau was in his branch, nearly 150 points per day.

Oustanding Administrator

Gemstar had a 100% full tree with 2 managers. Your pass is well deserved

Ouststanding Managers

Amazingly, 3 managers managed to get at least 38 points per day out of 40 possible. Congratulations and thanks for the points!

Outstanding Supervisors

(11 or more points per day out of 13 possible)

Foremen with 3 workers

Participants

Thank you for serving! If your name isn't listed here then update the wiki next time :-)
