Robare: what do you think of the game Zack?
Zackron: so far I've been fairly impressed. ATITD seems to have developed some rather unique ways of fostering both player to player interaction, along with player to development team interaction that few, if any other MMO's out there have.
Cathy: yes
Zackron: I like how things such as regional research help to bring players together and help each other out rather than trying to kill each other like in other games, and I really love the legal system, and how the developers will, for the most part, implement in game whatever the players vote on
Robare: from what I understand there is nothing else truely like this anywhere.....but since this is the first ...and only....MMo I have ever played..I'll have to take peoples word on that :)
Cathy: I have to play to tale 1, tale 2 and here, and I am always fascinated
Zackron: Robare - looks like you picked a great first MMO :)
Robare: yes...and the fact that there was no "kiling" involved kept me interested.....
Cathy: The meeting of people is formidable on this game, I was done many friend:)
Robare: and as time went on..i was truely astounded at the depth of the game...
Robare: something for everyones interests :)

Zackron: Well, right off the bat I have one very strong concern with Cathy..
Robare: yes...but if you are going to participate in later DP runs.and are interested in it..I would love to have the oppertunity to get to know something about yourself and your views...for the future :)

Zackron: I realize you guys are great friends, and that she's french, and it would be cool to have a french DP. However, I feel that one of the key componenets of DP is leadership, and one of the prime aspects of that is communication, and with the vast majority of players being english, the fact she is needing to use a translator, and the difficulty in understanding exactly what she is trying to say at times seems to create a fairly strong hurdle in that area

Zildjan: it is but it needs to weighted in teh whole context
Zackron: now maybe her other qualities that would make her a viable DP candidate overshadow that, I don't know, since I really don't know much about cathy as a player yet. So I'm not saying that alone disqualifiers her, that's just a possible concern I see

Robare: There are a large number of French players who speak no English at all....
Robare: However..Cathy..although needs a translator for complex discussions..speeks pretty good basic English...and has always made herself understood by all of us English speakers...
Robare: and by the criteria of Language problems....doi not all of the French speakers feel tha thtey have no voice in our game world...
Bonnella: Seems to me the answer there would be to elect a bilingual to represent the French speaking among us. We are after all, ALL immigrants, this being egypt. :)
Robare: Cathy ...because of the kind of person she is and her popularity with the English speaking candidates makes her ..I think ..a very viable candidate
Bonnella: And yes, although I am an English only speaker, I have signed the patition to put the french speakers in one DP round together. Just makes sense to me.

Pinhedd: the level system forces you to try new things rather than just build build build and take up more and more server resources :P but lets not get side tracked
Zildjan: I do not like excessively some bias toward player vs. player gaming he has added
Zackron: I don't quite understand how the game would be played without it, the level system helps to establish the pace of the game, gives more specific items to focus on, and also serves to show th more serious players from the less serious

Bonnella: I came into egypt about half way through tale 2. We have been playing just over a year. I'm married to Ofav and we live in Kush.
Bonnella: I started Tale 3 thinking that I would be his supporting helper again this time. As time went on and I started getting a couple of levels under my belt, I deciided that maybe I would like to play as an achiever this time. Just to see what I could do.
Bonnella: My first and so far only major accomplishment, was a very successful Vigil this past weekend. I set out to do 24 hours and we actually lasted 48 with well over 100k points to some participants.
Zackron: how many total sac's did you guys have?
Robare: wow...that is a great achievement! :)
Bonnella: Initially I thought I was going into DP just for the principle. But as I sat through the first round, I begin thinking that maybe I could be DP and seriously began trying to get to second round.
Bonnella: Ummm.. last I knew almost 1.5 K
Bonnella: 1446 or somehting like that. I'm pretty sure they made 1500
Zackron: wow, that may be more than we had at the 7L vigil
Zackron: not bad
Bonnella: I am friends with several of the "Power Players' but I do not consider myself among that group. I play mostly for the social aspects, which is why I excelled so well at Vigil.

Bonnella: And I may find that due to the love of people and my own play style, Worship will be where I excell in game.
Bonnella: Although there are times when Teppy is a pain in my bu**, I love the game, and only recently have I realized that.
Bonnella: So now I'm on a mission to see if I can become an ATITD Oracle. LOL

Bonnella: Hubby is on disability, and can spend endless hours here. I however hold a full time job. We also raise small parrots, and we have 40 some odd birds. Those things take game hours. So it's still a game for me, not yet a way of life.
Zackron: Yea, I think too many people look at DP as just being a DP, but it's only a single step toward a larger goal of orical
Zildjan: yes Bonn I also like to see playeers that cathc 'teh bug' and can't live without it
