- A Little History
- Tale I
- Played for the first time in T1, joined about 5 months after the start. Loved it from the moment I started playing.
- One of my fondest memories of the game was the Guy Fawkes party I threw on November 5th, it was very popular (probably something to do with all the beer I made :p ) and we had wine and fireworks and acro (I got zapped by G that night after he taught me my last 2 facets!) and Kona made a huge bonfire with a sculpture of a guy on top which we burned at the end.
- My original home was in Midland Valley (which doesn't exist anymore in T3) but I also had ties in VoK and became part of a large guild there which built several large pyramids. I discovered early on that I loved worship tests and working with others, this combined with the fact that I really got into beer making meant that I got really involved in festivals, initially as a supplier for Isis, Osiris and Hathor (later for all festivals except Thoth) and general rouser of people to attend and later on I began running them as part of the Festival Connnection.
- To start I never really planned to run them at all as there was a team in place already, just to help out, but when they planned to cut out the Euro timed festivals and only run US timed ones (which would have been around 3-5am on average for most people in Europe) I stepped in to take these over and eventually ran US timed ones too along with Jemgirl. By the end of the tale I had been given the passwords of quite a few people who were no longer actively playing and used to log them in come festival time to try and make up the numbers for those players who were late in the Tale to festivals and wouldn,t have passed w/o boosting the numbers, that was often quite a juggling act, running the festival on the mic while logging players in and out and sacrificing. I had a lot of support to help me in this from players like narkhoII and LittleCleo.
- Eventually I was chosen as the Oracle to lead the Worship Monument and spent most of the end of the tale organising the building of it. I also designed the test (Humble Priests) with help and support from the team and FaceAnkh was a particular help to me as a sounding board for ideas.
- When the tale closed I went out sat in my formal garden with narkhoII and some of my favourite things.
- Tale 2
- In T2 I decided to have a complete change, zisoni was very well known had achieved almost everything she could and I just wanted that feeling of being a noob. So I decided to create a new character called Shani. It was an interesting experience and I got an amazing insight into how some 'older' players treated newer ones. In some cases people that I had known from T1 who had always been charming and helpful to zisoni were completely condecending to the noob Shani. Of course other players that I had known and liked acted exactly the same way as they would have if they had known the characters were actually the same person.
- I started a new job during T2 and this meant that I had less time to play than in T1 when I had only been working a few hours a week, narkho who had also started a new character called Asim was also working again and this meant that we couldn't play the same way as we had in T1. Even so we passed a lot of tests, but stopped playing properly a few months before the end, just coming back to help with Monuments that needed us.
- Tale 3
- Started T3 with high expectations, decided to go back to playing as zisoni for this tale as I'd already done the whole fresh new start thing previously and didn't want to create yet another new character. The Beta went very well and had decided to make a new guild with some old friends. We'd picked out a nice spot and made a guild there in the Beta and everything was going well.
- Sadly it didn't remain that way once the tele started for real, another player decided that they wanted our camp site, even though they'd been camped elsewhere for Beta and when we started setting up camp there they decided to build their compounds in the small crater where we were. No amount of persuasion (we offered to give him resources, help him build elsewhere, give him stuff he didn't have, work with him etc) would get him to relocate. It was the begining of the end for our guild, the combination of this and levels meant that several members left and in the end narkho and I gave up our camp and moved to Karnak.
- I think we were quite depressed by the changes and after a long time of not really logging in much and then really not at all we let our accounts expire.
- After a very long break (almost a year and a half) we decided to play again, just have a look around at new stuff, see if we like'd playing again. Neither of us, could remember our old passwords, so while waiting for Teppy to answer us we created new characters to try out the game. I chose zis (zisoni's little sister) and really enjoyed looking at the new stuff that had happened since I'd been away.
- We got a really warm welcome from the people at Horus Tears and once we were back on our old characters, decided to move camp and join them.
