Beta > Mineral Map

Let's try to find a mineral map by adding mines coordinates and production (also land type in case it would be based on land type)

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Map of Egypt

902, 5971 Sand/Dirt/Blank (~40%) / Copper (~30%) / Strontium (~15%) / Platinum (~10%) Within a grassy hill valley

Note: As of 8/29/04, the ATITD2 developers changed the mineral distribution function, so the above are probably not of any use anymore.

Another Note: The mines in the 1122, 5969; 898, 6025; and 902, 5971 used to produce iron/copper mix before the 8/29/2004 changes to mining.

LOWER NUBIAN MINERAL MAP: I have attached a Lower Nubian Mineral Map based off the text document distribution map that was release a few days ago. You can find the map at the bottom of the page. Let me know if you have any questions/suggestions/bug reports by contacting me in Tale 2! Thanks!! -- Farlin

08-29-2004-06:51:00 Ok, mining is the overwhelming problem right now according to the poll. What I'd like to do is make a number of adjustments to both mineral distribution and smelting. Once again, ores will be redistributed, so a new surprise at each mine :)

08-29-2004-06:57:00 I'll say when the change is in effect.

08-29-2004-06:58:00 (Probably 30-60 minutes, since I'm rewriting the distribution function itself, not just changing the parameters.)

08-29-2004-07:54:00 New algorithm is done - the mineral maps look much more interesting now. I can tune this method to make sure that no region lacks basic metals (iron, copper), but that rare stuff is only in certain regions.

Key for Lower Nubia Mineral Map

Symbol Metal Symbol Metal Symbol Metal
C Copper z Zinc I Iron
p Platinum A Aluminum a Antimony
L Lead k ??(Likely Tin) S Silver

NOTE: Found another element on the map that was not very obvious, it was an S symbol. Unfortunately, I can't seem to upload an updated image to the site for whatever reason. -- Farlin

LowerNubianMineralMap.gifFarlinAugust 31, 2004 7:49 pm174958I converted this from the Lower Nubian Mineral Map that was released. I wrote a program that took the coordinate data and plotted it onto a large version of the Egypt map. Hope it helps!
lowernubia.zipShadusSeptember 1, 2004 6:35 am9950Original Lower Nubia Text File (zipped) that Teppy Published, Incase it's ever pulled off egenesis, we can analyze this for how the metal map generator lays out the ores... wish we had a few more of these in all honesty.
