This page is dedicated to disecting the new Mining System through a scientific method. So far Egypt has discovered 72 possible Crystal combinations and 18 different types of metals.
Theory: Rather than each crystal being a pure metal type, we believe that each crystal holds a value of several different types of metals. This would explain variances in recent smelting results, such as recieving a titanium result when mixing a crystal that was known to make tin in its pure form mixed with a crystal that commonly makes dirt in its pure form. While each crystal contains a ratio of several metals in order to learn what these ratios are we need to first understand several variables. We need to understand the number of metals produced by each crystal in its pure form in correlation to the number of crystals and number of stones used in the smelting process. Next we need to understand the ratio of metals per crystal type and how they relate to the metal outcome. And finally we need to combine the data we found from the # of crystals smelted to the ratio of metals in each crystal to create an efficient method of manipulating what we place into our ore carts to produce the desired product.
Experiment1: Examining the correlation of Crystal Number and Metal Yields. For this experiment we will be using a common iron producing crystal Sky Black. We will also be using a smelting pot to ensure a controlled smelting outcome. For this experiment we are assuming that the # of Stones does not matter, but we are recording the number in order to help explain any discrepency.
