Beta > Mining Metallurgy > Mine Description

When describing a mine the first thing you need to state is the coord location of the mine, followed by how many pulls your raw data was gathered from (recommended at least 20 pulls).

Ex: 20,7188:(20pulls)

Next you need to describe the technical output of the mine in relation to the types and quantities of crystals it produces. This information is more useful for figuring out the local ore map than for determining the bartering worth of a mine.

To do so you must list, for every crystal type you found, the percentage of stone that contained at least one crystal of that type, as well as the average number of that crystal found among those stones.

Ex: Tech: S/B 75%5 R/C 30%4 G/S 20%7 T/S 10%10 N/M 5%4 -/- 10%-

The S/B 75%5 means that 75% of the stones produced had at least one S/B crystal, and that on average these stones contains 5 S/B crystals each. The -/- 10%- is used to describe stones that contained no crystals.

Next you need to describe the usability output of the mine in relation to the number of stones that have at least 50% purity of compound. What that means is that if a stone contains 5 S/B (Iron) and 5 R/C (Copper) it is usable for both Iron and Copper production, but if it also contains 5 G/S (Dirt), it is not usable for anything. This information is useful in figuring out just how much metal and junk you can expect to get from a particular mine.

To do so you must list, for every output type you found, the percentages of usable stones that contain that type, and the average number of usable crystals found among those stones.

Ex: Usability: Iron 65%6 Copper 10%4 Dirt 15%7 Mud 5%4

The Iron 65%6 means that 65% of the stones produced had at least half of their crystals be of the Iron type (S/B or T/S or others) and that on average these stones contained 6 of these crystals each.

So when you finally need to describe a mine you can do it by listing all of this information in one line.

Ex: 20,7188:(20pulls) Tech: S/B 75%5 R/C 30%4 G/S 20%7 T/S 10%10 N/M 5%4 -/- 10%- Usability: Iron 65%6 Copper 10%4 Dirt 15%7 Mud 5%4
