Compound

Compounds form the basis for a home camp, and are used to hold the majority of buildings. Please read the comprehensive Compounds page to learn about this important building type.

There are nine default compound types, as shown below. Floorplans are shown on another page.

Warning: DECAY

If a compound is not protected by a cornerstone, it will decay. Once the compounds reaches 0% decay, the buildings inside will decay also, and may need repair - see structure repair. If a compound is at 0% for 14 days, it may be claimed by others under the 0% Compound Reclamation Act.

Historical Footnote

Compounds were introduced to allow the rendering engine to display simpler models, and make the game feel more city-like by allowing people to build closer. Compounds also allow for overlap checking in more cases.

?????? QUESTION: Is there any way you can determine the positioning of the compound, such as with a tent or a guild hall, so that you can place it in the exactly the way you would like to? Thanks! xa
