Guilds > Architects Of Egypt

Architects of Egypt is a guild for aspiring architects. Our goal is to reduce the competition and effort required to excel in the school of architecture by cooperating as much as possible on the tests. To that end we are actively recruiting, and have expanded our guild hall to hold 49 people. (a nice number, don't you think?) Come on by and sign up, we're located at the University of Architecture in Desert of Shades at -1281, 2953. When you do request membership, be sure to send a message to Taurean so he'll know to let you in.

The Test of the Obelisk

Our plan for Obelisk building is to have everyone build in the same spot, salvaging the previous obelisk to build the next.

The Test of Towers

Right now most of us are working on the Test of Towers, and we want to cooperate so that we don't end up competing with each other. The way this is going to work is that you'll be able to sign up for an hour that you can attend and build towers for, and you'll also be able to sign up for hours you can attend in order to build a tower for someone else. The reason we want to do this is because the best way to get a larger percentage of egypt is to build towers in geographically diverse areas. Building a second tower just 20 minutes away from your first won't usually help you a great deal, since it'll reduce the area covered by the first tower. However, if we can get people who are more spread out to build towers for each other than we can save ourselves the effort of running several hours away to build that second tower. Feel free to simply edit this page and add your name wherever you can.

Please ensure you enter all times in UTC (effectively GMT) rather than EST as otherwise they will be incorrect when viewed. If entered correctly, the times will be automatically converted through javascript into local timezones of whoever views the page. See also the little perl script attached to the archive page, it'll do the math for you.

This list is archived in the Towers Archive.

Could someone please explain what an "Assistant" is expected to do exactly? (i.e. Use their own resources to build a tower for someone else, use someone else's resources to build a tower for that person, help move materials, etc.) -Leyic (10.6.2004 2027UTC)
It's really up to the people involved, but the best way to do it is for everyone involved to build a tower or two in their home area, and then for the assistants to give the tower to the architect of the day. — db48x

Just found out they added a forum for us about a month ago. Go and request membership, it's easier to discuss things like dig times there than on a wiki page.
