Exploration Travel
Exploration Travel (sometimes called Expedition Travel) allows one to quickly travel back to the Chariot system after a long run in the desert, or to one's rural home after a day in the city. Expedition Sites are fixed about 3 minutes run from the Chariot Stops throughout Egypt. (A few are farther out.) If you are far away from a Chariot Stop, you may jump instantly to your Expedition Site. From your Expedition Site, you may jump to the location you have designated as your home.

After learning Explorations Travel, you may register at one Expedition Site and pick another arbitrary location to be your home (self->Navigation menu->Set home location). The first time you designate a site and a home location it will become active immediately. Subsequent changes to your Expedition Site or home location will take a 2 hour delay to become active. During those 2 hours, you are unable to use Expedition Travel at all.
Exploration Travel consumes navigation time accumulated while you are offline. The cost, according to the travel summary page, is 8 seconds for each coordinate travelled, with a minimum of 30 minutes.
The options to travel and the amount of travel time you have available can be accessed from your Navigation menu.
The description of the skill from system is as follows:
"The builders have tried to place Expedition Centers on all roads leading out of every city, about 250 coordinates from the city's chariot stop."
"You are certainly free to find creative uses of the skill, but one strategy that may be particularly helpful is this:"
"Set your designated Expedition Site to be the one closest to the city you most often visit. Set your home location to be your (main) compound."
"To get to any city in the game, travel to your Site, run to the City Center (should be about 4 minutes run, less with increased Speed stat in the future), and then chariot to your destination."
"When you're done, travel back to your Site instantly, and then back home instantly."
