VoK Acro

VoK Acro Event

The Global Mentoring guild plans to host an acro-riffic event in the region of Valley Of Kings at coordinates (NEW COORDS) -1240, 4800 (map further down the page) - deep in the heart of Valley Of Kings. We appreciate that it's a bit of a run, but it's the only way to keep people happy and healthy, and it's going to be a *massive* event. Count those facets! The event is scheduled for this coming Sunday the 18th, at 6pm GMT onwards (1400 EDT for the Yanks).

Players in the VoK region are protected from catching the Lung Spore disease, so we can all get together and share facets in a safe environment! See the rest of this page for organisation and travel arrangements, suggestions and guidelines!

Please note that you *cannot* warp into our out of the VoK region without ejecting *everybody* there - nor can you build anything in the region. More on this in the sections below.

VoK Global Mentoring Acro Line

What is an Acro Line?

Passing the Test Of The Acrobat requires you to meet with, and attempt to teach/learn facets of acrobatic moves to/from other players. It's a long, slow process (based very much on luck and chance), and as such it's often helpful to get together with groups of other players and all attempt to swap facets together.

An 'Acro Line' is an organised system whereby players queue and progress through a chain of players, attempting to teach and learn from each other. By progressing through, and ultimately adding on to the end of a series of 'stations', every player practices there moves with every other player at the event, in the most efficient manner.

What do I need?

You'll need to be signed up for Test Of The Acrobat (level 4), and to come to the event! You'll want to put aside at least an hour, and ideally quite a lot more.

What about the Lung Spore disease?

The Lung Spore disease cannot be transmitted within the region of VoK. As such, you'll just need to be careful travelling to the event, and leaving afterwards. Please note that you *cannot* warp into our out of the region without ejecting *everybody* there - nor can you build anything in the region. More on this in the next section.

What's going on in VoK - Why can't I warp in or build anything?

A largescale game event is currently taking place in the Valley of Kings region. If you'd like to be involved (and we encourage it - your actions could be remembered as the leadup to the massive repurcussions of whatever it is we're unlocking up there...), you can check out this wiki page for more information... Note that by no means do you have to take part in the 'meteor event', but all of Egypt will be grateful for your participation!

You'll need to arrive a bit early (30-60 minutes), and follow the instructions at the bottom of this page. You need to visit the four mysterious altars in order (order later in this page), and then after finding and placing your correct avatar-specific combination of the mysterious items which you recieve from the first 3 altars upon the fourth, you'll be warped into the region and given your tablet. You need to place that on meteors throughout the region, as part of a group, in an attempt to 'power up' and repair your tablet. We summise that the repaired tablets, when donated to the 'mysterious monolith' will provoke some kind of response, and the next chapter of the event.

WARNING: Do *NOT* under any circumstances to do following while within the Valley Of Kings region:

Performing any of these actions will 'anger the gods', and result in everybody within the region being forcibly teleported away, causing stress and hassle for everybody attempting to

Need a hand getting to VoK, and want to avoid getting sick? We'll try and bring sick players in through an alternative route from the healthy, then you can safely meet and mingle in VoK.

Routeplanner

In order to prevent infection of the healthy, we request that players infected with the Lung Spore take the 'long route' in order to get to the event. This means that healthy players have a limited exposure time, and can safely and quickly make it into the safety of the VoK region. As such, the we put forward the following suggestions...

Sick Players

Those infected with the Lung Spore disease should attempt to travel primarily by 'outer' chariot routes. Check the wiki Chariots page, and attempt to avoid travelling through the central regions. We request that you travel to Desert Of Shades, and travel northwest from the chariot. Follow the road to the branch, and take the North-Eastern route, which leads to the VoK entrance. Follow the map below to the acro site. This is an approximate 50 minute run, which isn't too bad given how many people and acro masters are planning on being there! Maps will be provided soon.

Healthy Players

Players who are currently healthy should travel via the inner and central Chariot routes to Qatara, and head due west along the road and into VoK through the gap in the wall. They should then head south from UThought to the site marked on the map below.

If you wish to take part in the VoK 'Meteor' Event

And we'd strongly encourage this...

You'll need to visit the altars and enter the region via the magic of tablets... Arrive via the Qatara Chariot, and be wary of avoiding/infecting others. You need to visit the following locations in order, and complete the puzzles there. Much more information can be found on this wiki page. I estimate that this will take about an hour. You'll then need to find the right combination of the puzzle pieces you recieve, and place those on the 4th altar. You may need to trade with other players for the right combination of puzzles pieces. More information can be found through the above link.

Please bear in mind that there might be healthy/sick people doing this run, and it's important to be considerate of others. Communicate with people and stay healthy / avoid infecting others! Thanks!
