Overview

Some of the research techs that A.R.K. are working on involve gearboxes of a certain type to be made. This page covers optimized designs and resource requirements for making those gearboxes.

Resources Involved

Gears require either brass or iron and equal quantities of beeswax to be made on a Casting Box.
Casting boxes require 100 or 600 Charcoal just to fire them up, so providing CC alongside metal and beeswax would be greatly appreciated.

• an SCB requires 100cc to fire but only runs for 20 minutes before needing more (+1 cc/minute).
• an MCB requires 600cc to fire but runs for almost 3 hours (+2 cc/minute).

The metal and wax required are as follows:

• 1 Small Gear requires 2 Brass & 2 Beeswax
• 1 Medium Gear requires 20 Iron & 20 Beeswax
• 1 Large Gear requires 120 Iron & 120 Beeswax (and a Master's Casting Box)

Large gears are listed to be thorough but none of these designs should ever need them (they're far too expensive).

Marble Mechanics

Khartoum's Marble Mechanics tech requires the following gearboxes:

• d220-d260
• e33-e38
