With the Dowsing tech known, you can create a Dowsing Rod from your Skills -> Assembly menu.

Known Uses
With a Dowsing Rod in your Items, a new icon will display at the top right hand corner.
Clicking it will initiate a 600 second focus timer, and check the terrain at the coordinates you stand, to see if there is an ore vein there. The result will display in either a popup, or the Main chat channel, depending on the interface options you choose. A failure message will display "You detect nothing but sand."
