Snugs: I have a couple of concerns about the "elimination by computer" proposal.
Lill: go for it
Snugs: This has worked for some smaller groups, but never for a whole group of 12
Snugs: There is no way to verify the size of other people's builds other than to have EVERYONE build at the same location or we all spend a considerable amount of time running to everyones camps to see that they built as they said they would.
Snugs: If we are all building size 2's at the same location and no one is enlarging after the round than a verifiable record is there.
Letsnow: This is my first time but isnt it possible to build a size 2 at the same location and then a size 3 somewhere else?
Snugs: But if people are all building in there own camps, unless the coords are posted and no one enlarges during the vote round and no one tears down afterwards, there is no way to know if anyone cheated.
Lill: true
Lill: is there a convient spot where we all can build?
Snugs: no cartouche only lets you build one of each building during a round and once up, you can not tear it down until after the round
Snugs: in a prior round where a computer decision was used we tested the double build situation
Snugs: If you already have one fully up, it will not let you start a second
Snugs: If you start 2 construction sites, I will let you start them both, but the second one automatically "tears" itself down upon adding the last part.
Snugs: A convenient site would be the closest open space near the booth in Seven Lakes in my opinion.
Lill: I think so too
Lill: I'm looking around atm
Snugs: All builds would be there and then the building would be varifiable
Snugs: Built rounds say "multiple people tied." Multiple people could be 2 or all 12. Agreeing to this opens the door for people to build larger than agreed to protect themselves from being in the running to be eliminated and does not leave any evidence in the cartouche chat that they have done so.
Lill: there is an area here beside the water closet 1408 1746 seven lakes
Snugs: The only way to mitigate this "open door" of betrayal would be if we all built at the same site, at the same size and no one enlarged ever or tore down until after the whole cartouche was done.
catharsisqueen: the only problem tho, is that ideally I would like to build my "toy" near my cp
Snugs: If we are doing the same location build, there is no reason to build larger than a size 2
Lill: yep
Snugs: a size 2 does not use to much mats and anyone who wants to have lawn ornaments can enter other rank 1s
Snugs: If some one does not build, they will be "out" by the system saying there was a zero build and the round would have eliminated them.
Snugs: So at the end of each build round there would be as many size 2's as there were people in the round.
Snugs: To do something sneaky and not get caught it would be very hard... and would require that 2 people zero build to hide the fact that another person built too large and then all 3 people would have to claim that they did not build, since we would be 3 builds short at bthe build site.
Snugs: That tactic would sort of work for a build or two if you had enough people willing to dive for you.

Snugs: At least voting rounds say a specific number, like 7 people are tied with 1 vote. Agreeing to this also opens the door for a betrayal during a vote round while most of the people are voting in a circle for some to pick off one person.
Snugs: If everyone does vote in a circle, the chat will inform us if not everyone voted.
Snugs: It will also inform us if some one received 2 or more votes.
Snugs: I would suggest that the we add a who votes for who section and that people openly state in this chat that they voted and who they voted for.
Snugs: One confused person could open the door for people to think there was a betrayal.
Lill: yes, I think that would be wise
Snugs: If we refrain from chatting during vote rounds and people announce their votes, we have sort of a record.
Heterika: if all are co in the same time its not easy
catharsisqueen: I have a suggestion- from one that likes her lawn ornaments- we could do each building all together on a different site
Snugs: And if the chat reports that not enough people voted, we can look up and quickly figure out who did not vote. Real life happens and some one might miss a vote, and when they come back all they need to do is to apologize and admit it. No reason to punish one missed vote.

catharsisqueen: I have to go to work, but in the interest of not having a total eyesore of tons of cartouches built in one spot, I'd like to propose that we pick a different location for each build

Snugs: we can also agree that when the whole ROUND is over, that we tear them down.
Snugs: I agree with catharsisqueen that 42 cartouche builds in a small space whould be eyesorish, but switching locations might also lead to confusion, with people unsure of where to build.

Snugs: and size when you tear down a size 2 you get most of your mats back, I would think that most peopel would not be to adverse to tearing them down after the round
Snugs: well Lill I would suggest that the chosen site NOT have any close neighbors, that would be lagged by 42 carouche builds
Lill: the water closet is along the main road...not much there but public buildings
Lill: including the water closet
Snugs: there are a few spots in 7L that are not too CP friendly and close to the CS that would make good choices

Snugs: how else can you easily varify that no one cheated?
Florin: I dont' want to do that :(
Florin: one of the reasons I am in cartouche is to build the cute buildings to decorate around our buildings
Florin: I don't want to tear them down, or build in 7L or someplace like that
Florin: I thought we were going to do the round robin in the voting rounds, but just let the highest builders pass in the building rounds

Snugs: 1) a GM can always be asked to move a cartouche after the round is totally done, since it does not effect anything
Snugs: 2) Lill's original proposal was that we all build the same size
Snugs: and the both te voting and bulding would be computer decided
Florin: well, I don't mind building the same size, but I don't want to all build in one location unless I get assurances beforehand from a GM that my cartouches will be moved
Florin: this is the main reason (decorative) thatI am doing this principle
Snugs: Florin are you friends with any GMs, if so ask them

Snugs: If not, I know that Deotep and TheMazeEcho have moved them in the past and said that they are allowed to do so.
Snugs: most of the time GMs are called upon to move buildings at that are causing exploits, like you build something that covers someone elses chest or something

Florin: I understand snugs...and I understand everyone's concern about trusting other's words in this test (as part of it is lying it seems)
Florin: I am just disappointed that I won't have my buildings to admire until I convince a GM to move it for me

Snugs: I just visited the coords proposed by lill, 1408 1746, and there are a couple of cps that are relatively close, one counter proposal might be to built on the back side of the hill where all of the cartouche boothjs seem to be built, at 1450 1800, the CS is in site, the booth is apt to be in site (I can see 3 booths atm) and it is far enough away from all roads that the cartouche buildings will not draw and there is only one cp nearby, a disposalbe kitchen cp (from the last food fest), that is rotting with out a cornerstone
Snugs: close top the CS and not lagging people is my thought here
