If you would like to participate in these tests, please /chat me in game. All participants will receive 10 crushed jade and 1 cabbage juice. If you feel these tests can be improved, feel free to append notes to this page.
Hopefully, the results of the these experiments will provide enough useful information about how the disease can and cannot be transmitted to allow those who are sick to safely interact with those who are well.
The purpose of these tests is to answer the following questions
These tests are very expensive in the form of litmus strips, but hopefully the investment will prove worthwhile. Each test requires a sick person (S), a well person (W) to perform the testing.
All tests conclude when the subject is infected
NOTE: Instead of using strips, all of these tests can be conducted in proximity to an SBody
Test 1 (requires 16 strips):
W is stationary. S moves to within 25 coordinates of W. W is tested for infection after 1, 2, 5, and 10 minutes S closes to 20 coordinates and W is tested again as above S closes to 15, W tested again as above S closes to 10, W tested again S closes to 5, W tested again
The test finishes when W is infected. Test 2 (4 strips or more):
S remains stationary at a given location for 5 minutes S moves away 50 coordinates to the east (can use waypoint or expedition site) W moves to where S was standing, staying 50 coordinates away from S at all times Once in place, W is tested for infection after 1, 2, 5, and 10 minutes If no infection, repeat with S remaining in place for 10, and then 15 minutes
Test two should be performed both inside a compound and in the open.
Those are all the tests I'm planning on doing for now. Note that in order for these tests to reveal anything, they will need to be performed many times. This will require a lot of powdered jade to cure infected subjects. If you would like to assist this effort by donating powdered jade for test strips ( or trading them for papy, cc, etc. ), please /chat me in game.
