A Page For Theories About Combinations For Smelting
COMBINATION EFFECTS (currently considered dubious)
- Teal/Mottled with Purple/Mottled combo consistantly makes Copper (Excaliber) - made sand with 56P/M, 15T/M (Tumaini) - Repeated test, requires roughly equal ratio of P/m and T/m. Still getting copper (in RSO) (Excaliber) - I've yet to actually see any T/M in RSO. Could you give me a screenshot? I suspect you may be using G/M, which is copper all by itself, and it's not the mix doing it. (Nefer-Bast)
- Purple/Mottled with Red/black and Red/Cloud makes Copper (Excalibur) - retesting both (P/M + R/B) and (P/M + R/B + R/C) has given only sand. I suspect Excalibur just had enough Red/Cloud in there to get copper from that. (Nefer-Bast)
- There is at least one report of Red/black mixed with sky giving copper. (sky/what? and does anyone know who reported this?)
- Not sure whether this has been mentioned but I think Teal mottled when combined with blue/black iron actually produces more iron than pure blue/black alone, it seems to be some kind of reagent for increasing the iron amount. Tumaini has also found this as well. I managed to get 4 iron this way instead of 3 in a smelting pot of 10 stones. I'm uncertain of the exact number of crystals requires of each colour to replicate this effect but I'll do some more research. (LeatherRaven AoK) Evidence to support this: getting 4 iron out of a smelting pot (Hob) Further to this pure Sky/Black got me 3 iron, Sky/Black with impurities that would have included Red/Clouds, Teal/mottled but definately no (yellow or Teal/Spotted) got me 4 iron. (Hob) Can confirm. Before the change on 8/29 teal and blue/black was yeilding 4 and 5 iron at camp in cots
- Green/Molted with Sky/Black produces Aluminum out of 5 tests (Ledeanna)(Green mottled alone provides the same since 8/29 update.)
- a mix of various copper types (167pts) gives 10, as does pure R/C (168pts), but various copper types + 6S/B (168 total pts) gives 11. Either the variance helps but 167/168 is a step, or only adding a bit of iron helps. (Nefer-Bast)
