The Test Of The Bedouin

Visit a University of Body to begin the Test of the Bedouin. Once you have begun the test, you may anoint common altars with cactus sap.

Every altar records the last three people to anoint it. Every minute, every altar gives one point to each of those three people. Every three game days, at between 6:55AM and 8:50AM, the top four point scorers for that time period receive one point of speed and a message saying, "You were one of the top four Bedouins! You rock!". (If one of the top scorers already has seven points of speed, they receive the message but no additional speed.)

A player passes the Test of the Bedouin when they have received seven points of speed.

Strategy

The BEDOUINS guild maintain a list of altars and organize a cooperative schedule of runners to minimize competition. While non-members of the BEDOUINS have passed the test, most of the people who pass are members of the guild. The BEDOUINS are a non-exclusive guild, and accept all applicants who locate the guildhall.

The BEDOUINS guildhall is in the Desert of Shades, at a location identified by the following riddle:

The mountain is high, the river is long
And water erupts from a golden pond.
Find the pink peaks above the blue lakes
For nearby the Bedouins have put down stakes.
