Common Altars are used for numerous rituals. They may be found throughout Egypt.
An altar has five components: the base, two focuses, and two pillars:

- Initiation into Worship
- Determining festival requirements for The Test of Festivals (as well as some of the festivals)
- The Test Of Marriage
- The Test of the Bedouin
- The Test of Astrological Alignment
- Ritual of Plant Growth
Publication of lists of altar locations is a politically charged topic, as knowledge of altars is a key component of passing the Test of the Bedouin. However, there is an incomplete altar list.
