Initiation Into Worship

Other languages:

Some of the following is from the main page on the Initiation into worship, other parts I removed or added. Remember that you need two people to do this, you do not need one person to do all of the actions, one can do an action while the other does the message in the main channel, and then for the next god the person who did the action can do the words. Also your items are NOT consumed when you meditate at the alter but the beetle will be consumed. Me (Yaos) and Twiske finished the iniation at VOK at about 9:15 central time September 14 2004 and it took us 10 minutes to finish. There is no one good spot to do this test at, also you can not use waypoints or expedition travel (used to be able to, but this was a bug and has been fixed).

Note: You CANNOT do this test with someone who has already passed the test. Only two people who are NOT initiated into worship may begin this test. Check your /info before you begin if you're not sure, and ask the other player just to verify.

Before you Begin: Shopping list

To build each ritual torch (you'll need at least one for the Gift to Ra, bring enough for several if you're not sure where to conduct the ritual) the aspirant making the torch needs at least level 1 in Ritual Item Construction and the following materials...

Note: Dont worry if you build the torch at the wrong place. If you have the Salvage Techniques skill (Lvl1 is enough) you can recover all the materials from the contruccion, as long asyou didn't ligth it. - Ssalama & MrBungle

One of the aspirants must learn a new skill for the Gift to Thoth. If the new skill is to be learned from a school you must bring the necessary tuition.

Please read the description of the entire initiation before trying it.

Part 1: The Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony takes place at a common altar, and involves the following steps:

  1. Aspirant #1 places a small diamond on the left pillar.
  2. Aspirant #2 places a piece of twine on the right pillar.
  3. Aspirant #1 meditates on the altar.

You should now take the items off of the altar, they do not have to stay during the test.

Part 2: Pleasing the Gods

From this point forward, you must move rapidly. The entire ceremony, from start to finish, can take no more than 25 minutes! If you run out of time, the gods will forget about you, and you will have to start over.

Just copy the words you need to recite, without quotes(does not count with quotes), and paste into the main channel. Remember that one person does the action and the other person does the words. You can switch back and forth between gods. You do not have to do the gods in any particular order. If you mess up what you are supposed to recite you can do it again. If a god is pleased you'll get a big popup message that will say so.

Each gift must precede the associated prayer (i.e. you must light the torch to Ra before your prayer to Ra will count). Both people get a popup when something is completed ("<god> is pleased with your gift" for the gift and "<god> is pleased with your prayer" for the prayer). The first checkbox for each God is the gift, the second for the prayer (yes, you could do all the gifts</a>, then all the prayers, and that works).

Horus
Bow down to his lordship (using the "bless" emote), and recite the words "Praise Horus, King of Egypt". You do not need to find a statue of Horus, just do the bless emote anywhere you want and it will count. I suggest doing it right at the altar.
Isis
Plant a field of flax, then recite "Praise Isis, whose seed is forever fertile!" You do not need to wait for the flax to grow, once the seed goes into the ground the god is pleased.
Osiris
Give him the gift of a beetle by dropping it into a mine (it doesn't have to be your mine), and recite "Praise Osiris, who was Reborn like the Scarab!" You will lose your beetle when you drop it into the mine, the sex of the beetle does not matter. Drop whichever type you have most of or borrow from an experienced player, who will have hundreds spare from beetle breeding.
Thoth
Learn a new skill from a school or university, then recite the words "Praise Thoth, the Magician who created Science!" Probably the hardest for older players, make sure you have enough resources to learn a skill if you are going to learn from a school. Remember that university skills are free. My suggestion is that one person picks up the ritual item construction skill here and then does the Ra portion of the test while the other person takes care of the rest of the test.
Note: You cannot learn a skill from another person for this portion of the test. It must be learned from a univeristy or school directly. -CrimsonShadow (for Juspar)
Ra
Light a ritual torch deep in the desert, with sand as far as the eye can see. Then, say the words "Praise Ra, of the Blazing Eye!" You need ritual item construction to construct the torch. Also don't forget to bring 1 oil to light the torch!
Bastet
Place a container of milk on the ground, in a grassy area, on the edge of a body of water. Recite the words, "Praise Bastet, who teaches grace and elegance!" This is self explanatory. The entire lake does not need to be surrounded by grass, only the part the milk sits on. Make sure the grass is touching the water. Just drop the milk, it comes in it's own container.

Part 3: The Closing Ceremony

When all six gods have been pleased, it is time to return to the altar. Once you get there, perform this closing ceremony:

  1. Aspirant #1: place a piece of twine on the left pillar.
  2. Aspirant #2: place a container of water on the right pillar.
  3. Aspirant #1: meditate on the altar.

You are done, remember you have to go back to the same altar! Also you can once again remove your items when you are finished.

[Disputed: Can someone confirm whether it's necessary to use the SAME altar? I'm sure someone said it works at any altar -- Tialaramex]

2 easy Easy Locations to Perform the Initiation (Spoiler)

The following location, in Valley of the Kings, is a great place to perform this initiation. It requires you to be able to learn a skill at a School of Architecture.

Use the altar in Valley of the Kings at -1311, 5145. Perform Horus and Isis right near the altar. You may have to jog a couple coords away from the road to plant the flax.

There is a mine up on the hill there, as well as one right south of the altar, which is more convenient as it is on the way to the SArch. That is where you can do Osiris, and learn the skill at the SArch. Use the road, of course. I learned Ritual Item Construction there.

Run south on the road a bit, and then head east into the desert. Go to -1188, 4915. There are three small bonfires there to mark the spot. This is a good spot to place the ritual torch. Don't forget to light it, obviously.

Next, run back north on the road towards the altar, and cut west before you get there. Go to the coords -1372, 5110 and place the milk on the shore. There are two small bonfires marking the spots boundaries. Return to the altar and finish the ceremony.

I believe my partner and I had about ten minutes left when we completed this initiation.

I hope this helps!

another good place to do this is at sinai choords.2659,5648.do hourus at the alter.there is some water next to the alter and you can do bastet there.there are some mines nearby to perform orisis at and the alter is on grass so you can perfom isis right there as well.if you switch into F7cam you can see some sand.go on the sand and run aways, and you can perform ra.then turn on F3 map and use it to guid you to the school of thought.you can do thoth there.then go back to the alter and perform the closing ceromony.
