Compounds > Initial Styles

Appearance

The Sunset Group maintains a set of model compounds that are available for your inspection. They are located at 1380 2310, just across the road from the University of Thought in Seven Lakes. You are very much encouraged to build your Thoth's Puzzle and Art Initiation Sculptures in this area, and you are invited to visit the site of our future Bijou School and other Art and Thought objects that are located in Caldera Park, just beyond the model compounds.

Do please consider building your major Art and Thought pieces on the floor of the caldera, or up on the caldera rim. We'd be delighted to accomodate you.

The building on the left, the Sunset Papyrus public carpentry compound, uses the 16 sector model compound that is recommended in Initiation Into Architecture. The building on the right, next to Caldera Park, is a public 1 sector compound with the default sloped walls. You're encouraged to play around with this single sector compound, to get used to the blueprint interface and try out some of your ideas.

In the following table you can see a

The center of the Cornerstone Sector of your compound will snap to the nearest terrain coordinate intersection, as indicated by the red terrain coordinates in the floorplan view. You can't adjust the postion nor rotate the model. The location of the Cornerstone Sector is critical, because when you expand your compound the cost for each added or modified sector is a cubic polynomial function of the distance from your Cornerstone Sector.
