Precious Furnace

The precious furnace is the first specialty furnace that we developed. It is used in mining to smelt metal from ore stones. Current theory is that it picks up a secondary material in the smelt - use 1-6 clusters of what you want, with the rest dirt/sand. See the discussion on the furnace results page.

• it holds up to 18 ore stones
• Firing cost: 60 charcoal
• Time to fire: 1200 seconds (20min)

Built: in a compound, uses 5x8 cells

Comments

• Curiously, crucibles do not seem to be required for a Precious Furnace. Perhaps the quartz is used to substitute for one?
• Cannot make alloys (brass, bronze, pewter and steel) - use an amalgamation furnace.
