Festival Schedule

This page lists upcoming Test of Festivals.

Festivals are usually coordinated using the FCN microphone. You may /join FCN at any time to see the most recent messages on the microphone. Tune in 2 hours before the festival to keep abreast of information like "what altars are being operated, and by whom?" Members of the guild "Festival Connection" will generally be coordinating the festivals.

Upcoming Festivals

Note: This is our FULL schedule for planned festivals. We only list the most important ones on the wiki home page. If you find too much information to be confusing, please use the schedule there. If, on the other hand, you like to know everything way in advance, you have come to the right place.

Please note this page is for FCN festivals ONLY. If you are running a non-FCN festy do not list it here. Only FCN staff should be updating this page. TYVM

What UTC time is it now? (bottom of page)

If you're looking for ambrosia, perfume, or other festival supplies, you may want to check the following lists of suppliers:

Suppliers may also want to announce themselves on the festival suppliers page.

If you can't find what you need in any of these locations, try posting on the festival needs page.

A note on timezones

Since a festival requires coordinating people from all over the world, the times listed will be in UTC (an international standard, which can be read as GMT). The wiki automatically translates the UTC time to your local timezone (see note below on your computer's clock being set up wrong) and will display something like: "2003/11/10 01:30 UTC (Sun 09 Nov 2003 21:30:00 EST)", where the translated local time is in brackets. As a general guideline, GMT = UTC, EST = UTC-5, PST = UTC-8. Click here for a fuller list of timezones.

Things get more complicated if you live in a place where the clock is changed in summer (daylight savings) - unfortunately most places. When daylight savings comes into effect in your country/state, your time will change, but UTC will not. For example, EST (Eastern Standard Time) = UTC-5, but EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) = EST+1 = UTC-4. The automatic conversions will fix all of this for you (just use the time in the brackets) but be aware that daylight savings often causes trouble and check in for the festival early.

There has been particular confusion in the past over the UK and USA daylight savings time. Here's the deal: The first time displayed on the wiki is in UTC. UTC time is an international time standard and is equal to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). However, the UK changes to BST (British Summer Time) around the end of March and sets their clocks ahead 1 hour. So, those of you in the UK who have been used to looking at UTC instead of your local time will notice the 1 hour difference--look at your local time instead. Most of the US changes to daylight savings time around the beginning of April and set their clocks one hour ahead. The current difference between BST (the time in London) and US EDT (the time in New York) is 5 hours, while the difference between EDT and UTC is 4 hours.

If you want to read more on this way too complicated subject, try the wikipedia timezones entry and a few google searches. For more on daylight savings time, try here and here (when your country/state changes to daylight savings varies around the world and is generally set by local law).
