- Add water (usually you bring it up to volume = 10)
Stage 1 ( choice 1 or 2)
- Temperature between 625 and 775 degrees Add 1 Nature's Jug mushrooms
- Temperature between 360 and 400 degrees and need acidity between 3.0 and 3.4 Add 3 Brain mushrooms
Stage 2 ( choice 1 or 2)
- Acidity between 1.2 and 1.5 Add 3 Catnip Mushrooms
- Acidity between 3.1 and 3.6 Add 1 Arsenic
Stage 3 (choice 1 or 2)
- Temperature between 650 and 800 degrees Add 3 Razor Edge Mushrooms
- Temperature between 190 and 385 degrees Add 1 Nature's Jug mushrooms
Stage 4
- Wait for the precipitate to reach 1.0 and take out your serum
The cheapest recipe is NJ-> Arsenic-> NJ, but you may choose either of the two options at each stage.
Instructions for the Toxin Kitchen-Impaired
Don't be afraid of the Toxin Kitchen. You can do this. The instructions above are dead-on, but here are the details (NJ/Arsenic/NJ recipe) for folks who aren't so familiar and may need a little more detail.
Materials below are for one deben of serum. Note that you can only make one deben at a time. Currently there is no way to make more at once.
You'll want:
- +CON food. 105 CON will allow you to run one lab with no downtime till your food duration runs out. No CON food means waiting about a half-hour between attempts.
You'll need (per deben of serum):
- 1 Arsenic (Ingredient)
- 2 Nature's Jug mushrooms (Ingredient)
- 10 water (adds to Volume stat)
- 1-3 cabbage juice (Used to check Acidity stat, which doesn't update automatically)
- 3-5 cactus sap (adds to Acidity stat)
- 7-10 charcoal (adds to Temperature stat)
And don't forget that you need Botanical Identification (second degree) for the option for Eye of God Serum to appear on the toxin kitchen.
Let's Do This!
- Pin the toxin kitchen window.
- Press the "Start a batch of Eye of God Serum" button on the toxin kitchen.
- Immediately add 6 water ("Dilute with Water" button). More is okay, but less is bad. Never let Volume hit zero.
- Immediately add 6 or 7 charcoal (up to temperature between 625-775).
- Add one Nature's Jug mushroom. (This will take you to Eye of God Serum, Stage 2.)
- Immediately add 3 cactus sap ("Catalyze with Cactus Sap") and try to add one Arsenic.
- If successful, the little stat window will say it's "Eye of God Serum, Stage 3." Move on to the next major step.
- If unsuccessful, add one cabbage juice ("Check Acidity") and look at the Acidity stat (needs to be 3.10-3.60).
- If it's low, add one cactus sap.
- If it's high, wait for the temp to drop once and try and add one Arsenic again.
- Repeat these couple of steps and "Check Acidity" as needed until you are able to add the one Arsenic successfully.
- Wait for the temperature to drop just below 385 and add one Nature's Jug mushroom. (This will take you to Eye of God Serum, Stage 4.)
- Wait for the precipitate to hit 1.00, and remove the serum from the toxin kitchen.
Notes and Troubleshooting
- Volume - watch your water. As long as the volume stat never hits zero, you can fix any mistakes. Take a breath, note which Stage you're in, and see what you need to add to make it work.
- Cactus Sap and Acidity - three cactus sap is often too little, but four is almost always often too much.
- Cabbage Juice - you can save a little if you try to add your Arsenic rather than using it to check often. If the acidity is in the right range, the arsenic will go in successfully, whether you've checked its level or not.
- Precipitate not gaining? - completing stages 1-3 gets you .66 precipitate. If you're stuck in Stage 4, and the precipitate has stopped rising, try adding one charcoal and/or one cactus sap. Temperature and acidity level both affect speed here.
- In fact, I've found adding 1 cactus sap right after that last shroom pops the precipitate up to 1.00 almost immediately. I'm impatient, so I do it about every time now. ~Shivani
