"I have to remind you that creating new trial accounts is against the Terms of Service. If you already have 1 Paid account, all new accounts you create have to be paid as soon as possible." ~ TheMazeEcho. poils au dos
Octec's Alloy is made by no normal means. The player must have the required items in their inventory upon having [not yet proven] lightning hit them from leveling(not all levels); passing tests. Initiations into any of the Disciplines do count; keep in mind, it is against ToS to create trail account to create Octec's Alloy.
BIG DISCOVERY BY CJ-THE-DJ15
There is also another way of making Octec's alloy from the lightning off of an Obelisk if you hold 7 of each required metal while clicking touch the obelisk then it will act like leveling up and you can do it as many times as you want :)) - CJ :D:D:D:D
I tried this on the 1000-cubit stone obelisk at 1090, -2557. It didn't work. Any other 1000-cubit obelisks?
Don't forget what Ktisibios said too: "When making Orichalcum without lightning, energy is released, makes people sick." Could he be talking radiation here? It killed his assistant....
Aphophis has stated that trial accounts are not able to create alloy to prevent rampant breaking of the ToS. Only paid accounts can create octec's alloy ~ThePheonix
We have tried these combo's
- 6 Gold
- 6 Water Metal
- 6 Metal Blue
- When the player is zapped with lightning 12 Octec's Alloy was added to the players inventory.
I can confirm that you do not need to be online when you level up - PeacefulPanther passed Cicadas and logged on to find 14 Octec's in her inventory... DuncanOfMycenae

This is a page dedicated to organizing and keeping track of research done on finding Octet's Alloy.
Hints
We've gotten the following hint for Apophis: "Anyway, Octec's Alloy cannot be made in the reactory or via metal treatment bath. It uses a process that you have never done before. However, you are capable of doing it. It's just the combination you have to work out. It doesn't use a building at all, in fact. I know that sounds weird, so I will repeat it. You do not use a building or tools to make Octec's Alloy. The hint is at the greek's site. The piles of metal that are charged with electricity. Skills are not required."
full conversation here.
We've also gotten the following message from Ktisibios: "Secret of Orichalcum is before you, but you will be too ignorant to see. Lunarium (Water Metal), Hydrageum (Metal Blue), Aurum. Add power of the Gods." Lunarium and Hydrageum are words Ktisibios has used before to refer to Water Metal and Metal Blue, Aurum is Latin for Gold.
On Ktisibios' island, there are a variety of barrels, two of which have 4 heiroglyphs on them (Visible here) On possible translation of the glyphs are sheets of metal place (in) (unknown)... We're working on that last glyph :)
Ktisibios's Camp
Here are some pictures of Ktisibios's Camp.
Observations
The 4 piles of metal in Ktisibios's camp are made out of 9 blue models (which are the same model used for Metal Blue and Water Metal), 5 gold models (which are the same model used for Gold and Sunsteel), and 3 Bars (which are the same model used for iron bars).
Ideas
- Ktisibios was experimenting with explosives when his camp was destroyed - perhaps iron bars, gold etc caught up in an explosion might transform into Octec's Alloy - DuncanOfMycenae
- Has anyone seen whether there's an option to drop metals in sulphurous water (or maybe the pool at Ktisibios' camp)? - Al-Bilal
Experiments
- Dropped 3 iron bars,5 gold and all possible combos from water/blue metal but no special option was given on the items
- Used the bless emote when dropped down
- Emptied a jug of sulfurous water over the metal
- Getting zapped for a test pass while holding 100 of every known type of metal and alloy resulted in no change in any metals, and no new menu options.
- The electricity from a huge obelisk didn't do anything with all types of metals and alloys.
- Dropped 3 iron bars , 5 gold and combinations of water/blue metal. Used explosives. Also tried same at lake of sulphur water. I did drop Dawn of Ra a few times. Was also thinking Dawn of Ra , might be a part of the puzzle. Plants need phosphorous in order to flower , which Dawn of Ra does do, It is also and ingrediant in flux that is used for welding , it purpose is to help stick things together before heat it applied. After reading McArines thoughts. I am going to restest a few things.
- Also tried dropping combinations , at the altar to the VOK entrance.
Uses
This is most likely the metal "orichalcum" required for more advanced technologies according to Ktisibios
