Furnaces

Furnaces are buildings used in mining in order to smelt ore stones into metals. There are many types of furnace which can be built, each with its own special characteristics. All furnaces run on charcoal.

Name Cost Size where Brief Description
Smelting Pot 1 Crucible, 50 Firebricks 5x6 inside Inefficiently smelts pure crystals from mining.
Craft Furnace 4 Crucible, 120 Firebricks, 12 Leather, 36 Boards, 12 Flint, 2 Iron Bar 13x13 inside Efficiently smelts pure crystals.
Amalgamation Furnace 12 Cut Stone, 1 Iron Pot, 20 Leather, 240 Firebricks, 40 Small Topaz 9x9 inside Allows alloys when the Primary and Secondary Crystal count is nearly equal.
Brass is the only case this is entirely true. Other cases result in poor yields. Steel is optimized when Zinc is added to the mix of Iron/Alum - OldJoe
Fragile Furnace 20 Cut Stone, 6 Crucible, 24 Leather, 4 Copper Sheeting, 4 Bearings, 2 Iron Bar, 2 Sheet Glass, 300 Firebricks 15x15 inside Smelts 1/3 to 2/5 primary crystal and allows mixed junk for the balance so long as the crystal count is lower.
Precious Furnace 60 Firebricks, 40 Leather, 24 Copperwire, 40 Slate, 400 Small Quartz, 4 Copper Straps 5x8 inside Smelts the secondary crystal so long as it is less than 1/3 of the total crystal count.
