Egypt is aware of 28 different varieties of marble. All are obtained from underground deposits which must be discovered using the Rock of the Ages skill, then extracted from the ground in a stone quarry.

In order to prospect for a particular type of marble, you need a Perception level appropriate for that type. You may have this level naturally (from Gastronomy, Oenology, Beer Tasting, and Fumeology), or from food that alters your current level. If the latter, you may only prospect while you have at least the required level.

• Presumably, all marble types are used in pilgrim shrines.
