Architecture
If you need any help building your
tent, please ask.
Planning to build? Please coordinate with others in the guild, so we don't conflict with one another. :)
In addition to many supplies available at the guild, we also have two build sites. You will need to join the EARTH guild in DoS at the Obby Factory - (see Bifa or Waddles for help with this) - to use them.
Towers Depot
The first is our Towers Depot at 1234,5080 (at the top of the !-shaped lake about 20 minutes south of SLG). It has one complete set of materials
? for each of the 5 types of
towers. The intention is for that to be a back-up, in case you forget something. Please feel free to use anything there to build with, but replace them right after the Towers Hour ends.
Also, the Towers Depot needs routine maintenance.
Obby Factory
The other is our Obby Factory in DoS, at -1172, 3594 (from the CS, take the NE road past the UArch). It will have one complete set of materials
? for each of the 5 types of
towers. The intention is for that to be a back-up, in case you forget something. Please feel free to use anything there to build with, but replace them right after the Towers Hour ends.
Also, the Obby Factory needs routine maintenance.
Our
Obby Factory is in DoS, at -1172, 3594 (from the CS, take the NE road past the UArch). It has virtually everything you need to amass the materials needed to build an
obelisk on site. The intention is that each architect builds an Obby, passes, then gives the Obby to Bifa for salvage for the next person. We ask that you continue the tradition of producing more than you need (we recommend having enough to go two steps higher than needed, in case someone over-builds your tower before you pass), to make it easier for the next person building.
Currently, the folks signed up to build are: (no one).
Please feel free to use anything there to build with. See the list of materials? currently on site.
Also, since the Obby Factory has a cornerstone, no maintenance is needed.
If you are interested in this test, check with Bifa. There are still a couple of groups working to build Megas, which would welcome you with open arms!
If you're looking to pass, there are a few lines in the area that could use some help, such as Sinai Water Works, RAC, Thirsty VoK, and a PB line that isn't yet organized. SWW has had a bunch of passes, but the other three are new lines and may prove popular once they're up. These guilds and others are listed at the bottom of
this page.
Also, we are running a short line of towers up to our neighborhood, near the Nile. If there is interest in more, we can easily run another line of towers further west. We have the ability to make all the resources needed, including all the Raeli tiles needed.
This requires a lot of coordination, and so is probably better handled by a specialty guild. One such guild is
Birds of Fire.
Collect a full set of 20 different crystals, starting from a mere dozen, collected on 1 trip to UArch, and 5 trips to SArch on 5 different days. Obviously, not everyone *can* pass this. Also, apparently, some crystals are more rare than others.
The 20 crystal types are:
Amen Ra, Anubis, Bastet, Bes, Buto, Dua, Hapy, Hathor, Horus, Isis, Maat, Min, Montu, Osiris, Set (rare), Shu, Sobek, Taweret, Thoth, Wepawet
Here are folk's crystal types, for trading pruposes:
Player | Has | Wants |
Bifa | completed | |
Remmao | Amen Ra (2), Anubis, Buto, Dua, Hathor, Isis, Min, Montu, Osiris, Set, Sobek, Thoth
Nefarious2134 | Bastet, Horus, Isis, Osiris, Taweret, Anubis
Zildjan | Horus for trade with other crystals (plus a couple of other kinds) | Please chat me |
Art and Music
Feel free to build whereever the spirit moves you, and be sure to ask us all to vote! To keep lag down, please consider tearing down your sculpture after yo upass, and vote eyesore on any of the old sculptures you see all around the lake. :)
SLG has a guild terrarium and some assorted beetles, if you'd like to try your hand breeding them. Don't forget to give them a lot of cabbage, and remove them before you log off!!
We have basic equipment and some materials to help with this. Also, the
Kaboom guild is a great resource.
SLG has a mosaic table in the north annex, and a goodly collection of [[Guilds/Saqqara_Lake_Guild/Mosaics | tiles ]. We also have
6 Raeli Ovens that can make some other colors for use or for trade.
Requires treated boards, raeli tiles, concrete, metal goods, a silk cloth, and all metal salts, among other things. We have one across the Nile, which hopefully we can pass around.
Body
All of the plants you need to Identify can be found within the alloted time, starting at the SBody in ND. Consider your first run as a test run, since you can repeat it as often and as frequently as you like without penalty. Note that Cacti and Herbs don't count here...
Bifa, Remmao and Waddles are all Acro Masters, and many guild members have almost that many moves. Ask for folks to acro with you! Also, hang out at a CS and politely ask people to acro with you. Lastly, watch for announcements of Acro Lines - groups of people acroing together. It might also help to keep track of your better teachers for when you've taught enough facets to learn another facet from each of them.
Cicadas can be hard to find, but very rewarding! Ask folks for general areas they'd recommend to search, but not for specific cage locations, please. :)
Shroom Mountain (to the west of SLG) is a good spot to begin your search for the elusive mushies!
Mushrooms are most often found in mountainous areas, from 3 - 5 am.
Shroomdar may be an aid for you, and ask others for help!
Ibis
Best to join the Safari Hunting guild (near the ND CS at 851, 7059) for help with this.
Gazelle
Best to join the Safari Hunting guild (near the ND CS at 851, 7059) for help with this.
Falcon
See Bifa for bunnies to help you locate this birds. There are also bunnies in our guild serpentarium.
Frog
Headphones are recommended to find these intermittently noisy guys - but find 'em before dawn, or forget 'em! Reports are that carrying material for a woodplane, and moving a woodplane construction site around without actually building it may help you see the dark "frog dot". Pressing F4 may also help.
Rats
Always carry materials for a rat trap with you - never know when you might stumble across a set of these elusive paw prints!
Otters
Always carry 14 boards with you - never know when you might stumble across one of these playful guys!
Fennecs
There are many public fennec trap grids built throughout Egypt. They crumble into dust after 30 days, so it's good to carry some replacement traps with you. We now have our own public grid which can be viewed here:
Trap Map. Be sure to check it around 4:00am Egypt time and let the guild know if you find anything.
Conflict
Not many of us have even passed this init yet. If pairs of us go to the
Reflection pools and play, we will start getting some of us passed!
There's a 7 wood ante tug desk near the guild hall. Try asking on the guild channel if anyone wants to play.
To start this test, you must first learn the Way of Zhadu from someone who already has it (4 lessons). Please list your name here if have this skill and are willing to teach it to others.
People with the Way of Zhadu
Bifa, Leyic, t3d, Zildjan
Requires three people to play. We have a table in our guild's courtyard.
Leadership
Please ask each of us to sign your petition. Also, hanging around a CS and politely requesting signatures is a good way to get your needed 20.
Try visiting the welcoming islands every once in a while, and leave a nearby welcoming banner active if you're not busy. Also, we have a mentoring guild:
Upper Nile Commune. Join that if you're interested in mentoring in a group environment (as opposed to solo mentoring).
Bifa came in last in one of these elections, and is available to suggest what *not* to do...
So far, folks who have passed this are: Bifa, Leyic and MAMTeles.
Folks currently running are: ?
Please consider supporting your guildmate(s) with your vote. :)
You need to come up with an interesting event to run, but let us know should you come up with one so we can show our support.
Thought
SLG owns it's own pyramid at 670 6065 (directly South of SLG), used for a Set's Ladder. Please play it, to help each of us get passed! Check with Bifa to get your name added to the list of who is next. Note that the Pyramid needs to be continuously owned by SLG, to prevent accidents, but that any guild memebr can design their Set's Ladder on it.
Currently, the folks signed up are: Maharon, Kandahar and Zildjan
We have a TotIs at the SE corner of the ND games area (865,7111) that we pass on to interested members as it becomes available. If you want your own personal TotI, you're certainly free to build one.
Currently, the folks signed up are: Leyicand Zildjan.
The difficult part of this test is probably getting the treated boards, but you need a lot of concrete and zinc among some other things. You also have to upgrade the basic structure, and that takes marble, cut gems, and a gearbox. This may not be meant for a single person to build...
Not that rough materials wise, but still a relatively complicated test. We have our own venery, at 798, 6310. Ask Bifa for more info.
Requires treated boards, raeli tiles, paint (basic colors), and 2 silk cloth.
Requires a Hornet's Wing granite.
Ask Bifa for a couple of tips...
Worship
The test can be completed within the alloted time, starting from our altar at 698,6209. Please note that you and your partner do *not* need to stay together during the test.
Our nearest alter is at 698,6209. Please let us know if you are getting married - we'd love to help celebrate!
